Aliza joins NAACP and Santa Cruz City Council in MLK March for the Dream

Honored to have been invited to sing my tribute song to Dr. King at Santa Cruz's 2019 MLK March for the Dream yesterday. Hosted by the local chapter of the NAACP and the SC Police Dept., it was inspiring to hear the youth speak about keeping Dr. King's vision alive, while learning that four local police departments have committed to coming together in dialogue with the African American community to see how the police can better serve. Powerful and GROUNDBREAKING. Speakers included the Mayor of Santa Cruz, Martine Watkins, Chief of Police Andy Mills, Cesar Chavez's grandson Oscar, and many more teachers, students, and spiritual leaders from the community. Not to mention the indomitable soul singer, Tammi Brown. Thank you Brenda Griffin, president of the NAACP Santa Cruz for the invite!
