Aliza Hava is not your typical singer/songwriter. This fiery songstress is dedicated to using the power of music as a tool for social change. A breathtaking performer, her introspective lyrics explore the deepest levels of love, life, spirituality, and personal transformation. Her self-produced debut, RISE, is an artistic statement of conscience calling for an end to war, a keen awareness of our environmental responsibilities and recognition of the unity of humanity.
With a blend of classic rock, soul and folk influence, Hava's music has been heard on independent radio stations internationally, including All for Peace Radio in Israel/Palestine, where she lives and directs the new initiative, Harmony in the Holy Land, a series of musical celebrations uniting the children of Abraham. Her songs are featured in the upcoming documentary FEMME: Women Healing the World, directed by Emmanuel Itier (The Invocation) and executive produced by Sharon Stone. FEMME features Nobel Laureates and prominent female leaders, teachers and artists who use their gifts to help create a better world. Hava is a recipient of Talent for Humanity's Human Spirit Award and will be featured in their upcoming book profiling some of today's most inspirational artists.
International performances have taken her across the USA to Australia, India, South Korea, Latin America and the Middle East. As well as being a performer, she is a social activist and founding director of Peace Day LIVE, a global concert celebrating the International Day of Peace, Sept. 21. Hava serves as co-chair of the Music for Peace Day subcommittee of the International Day of Peace NGO Committee at the United Nations and as a representative for the World Peace Prayer Society. The title track of her album, RISE, is featured on Occupy this Album, 99 Songs for the 99 Percent, along with music by Jackson Browne, Warren Haynes, Third Eye Blind, Crosby and Nash, Lucinda Williams, Michael Moore, and many, many more. Hava has appeared at Madison Square Garden, New Orleans' House of Blues, Mountain Jam and music festivals internationally. She has shared the stage with celebrated artists such as Michael Franti, Dr. John, Matisyahu, Derek Trucks, Kevin Costner & Modern West, Tab Benoit & The Voices of the Wetlands, Woodstock legend Richie Havens and more.
